Netnod and Norwegian IXP NIX sign mutually beneficial MoU

11 March 2015
Netnod and the Norwegian Internet Exchange Point NIX, are signing a mutually beneficial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of cooperation.

Netnod CEO Kurtis Lindqvist and NIX CEO Kjetil Olsen, announced today at the Netnod spring meeting, that the two organisations have signed a non-binding MoU. The MoU covers four areas of cooperation, where the two organisations will work together for the benefit of both organisations, and the Nordic region.

The four areas of cooperation are:

  • Technical development
  • Other technical cooperation
  • Community building
  • Commercial development

"We are looking forward to closer cooperation with Netnod", says NIX CEO Kjetil Olsen. "While we at this point don't know exactly where this cooperation will take us, a good start is information sharing and knowledge transfer. Netnod is a mature IXP in the region something we really believe we can benefit from at NIX."

"We have always had very good relations with NIX." says Kurtis Lindqvist "We see that taking this step to somewhat formalise our cooperation as a very positive signal to the region. We hope we can help further boost the interconnection market in Norway, and we want to explore how we can work together for the Internet in the whole Nordic region."
