In an era where society increasingly relies on digital services functioning without interruption, the robustness of our digital systems becomes a fundamental prerequisite for our collective security. Against a backdrop of heightened geopolitical tensions and growing cyber threats, collaboration between operators of critical infrastructure and the security sector is becoming increasingly vital. Through its membership in SOFF, Netnod joins a network focused on strengthening Sweden’s defence capabilities and resilience in an increasingly connected world.

- We welcome Netnod to the association, as their experience in operating mission-critical digital infrastructure is central to the issues we drive regarding a safer and more robust Sweden, says Robert Limmergård, Secretary General of SOFF.

Netnod operates, among other things, the largest Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in the Nordics and provides both primary and secondary DNS services. The company also operates one of the world's 13 i-root servers and is responsible for distributing the Swedish time scale, traceable to UTC(sp), on behalf of the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS). Through its services, Netnod plays a decisive role in strengthening the resilience of digitalised organisations, including the country’s municipalities and regions.

- Becoming a part of SOFF is a natural step for us at Netnod. As operators of critical infrastructure, we see how the line between IT security and national security is becoming increasingly blurred. We look forward to contributing our expertise and, together with the other member companies, developing the solutions required to protect the Swedish digital ecosystem in both peacetime and times of crisis, says Karin Ahl, CEO of Netnod.

Through this membership, Netnod will participate actively in SOFF's member groups, with a particular focus on cybersecurity and civil-military collaboration, to promote innovation and robustness in Swedish communications infrastructure.
