Ahmed Abdelsalam is an Engineering Technical Leader at Cisco and a key driving force behind SRv6 uSID. He has made major
contributions to several IP engineering projects and actively helps operators worldwide in their SRv6 uSID adoption journey.
Ahmed is part of the Cisco team that received the 2025 Pinnacle Award, Cisco’s most prestigious recognition for engineering
innovation that opens new markets, redefines existing ones, and drives game-changing improvements in productivity.
He has played a pivotal role in enabling SRv6 support across SONiC, SAI, FRR, Linux, and FD.IO VPP. Ahmed has a Ph.D. in
Computer Science from the Gran Sasso Science Institute in Italy. He holds several patents, co-authored several IETF drafts and
research publications. Ahmed is a co-author of the book “Segment Routing Part III – SRv6”.
