Netnod Launches DNS Anycast Service Focused on Swedish Enterprise Market

DNSNODE guarantees Swedish registrars 100% uptime and infrastructure-grade anycast.

Netnod today announced the launch of their DNS anycast service for the Swedish enterprise market. This service, part of the well-established DNSNODE product, builds on Netnod’s success in providing DNS anycast services to Top-Level Domains (TLDs) and in developing critical Internet infrastructure throughout Sweden and globally.

“We are excited to bring our infrastructure-grade DNS service to the enterprise market,” said Lars Michael Jogbäck, Netnod CEO. “As the operator of i.root-servers.net, one of the 13 DNS root servers, and pioneers of DNS anycast services for TLDs, we have been working at the core of the Internet for 20 years. Extending our DNS services to the Swedish enterprise market through partnerships with Swedish registrars is part of our long-term strategy. I welcome Excedo as our first official partner. These partnerships will improve DNS resilience and performance throughout the region which is vital to the success of Swedish registrars and their customers.”

DNSNODE Enterprise offers registrars a white label, authoritative DNS service with a 100% uptime guarantee. By using Netnod’s industry-leading server footprint, registrars can provide their customers with the most effective authoritative DNS service in the region.

Michael Duffy, Excedo CEO: “Netnod is well established in the industry with longstanding, proven expertise and an established track record in DNS services. For us, they are the obvious choice as partner. Their knowledge of the local Internet market in Sweden and global contacts is a great bonus of course.”

Located in secure telecommunication bunkers, and with nodes throughout the country and region, DNSNODE provides the most secure, resilient and comprehensive coverage in Sweden. As the largest Internet Exchange Point (IXP) operator in the region, Netnod exchanges traffic with more than 150 network providers in Sweden, connecting DNSNODE customers to all the local ISPs as well as the region’s largest transit providers. This ensures optimal performance and redundancy for all local traffic. Netnod has over 70 DNS sites worldwide and is currently building out its DNSNODE partner program to additional markets.

“Netnod has been working for 20 years as a non-profit, neutral and independent organisation developing critical Internet infrastructure in Sweden,” said Johan Ihrén, Senior Systems Specialist, Netnod. “For more than a decade, we have been providing DNS anycast services to TLDs with 100% uptime. We have an established reputation for providing critical infrastructure, ranging from DNS secondary services and root name server operations to operating the largest IXP in the Nordics. Expanding DNSNODE into the Swedish enterprise sector continues our work for the good of the Internet throughout the region.”
