Netnod Co-Founder Lars-Johan Liman Elected to the RIPE NCC Executive Board
Following a membership vote at the RIPE NCC General Meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland, Lars-Johan Liman, Senior Systems Specialist and co-founder of Netnod, has been elected to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The election results were officially announced today during the meeting's closing sessions.

As a member of the Executive Board, Liman joins the collective leadership responsible for providing strategic direction and financial oversight for the RIPE NCC, the Regional Internet Registry that serves more than 20,000 members and manages core Internet resources, such as IP addresses and Autonomous System Numbers, across Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia. Together, the Executive Board works to safeguard the stable operation, neutrality, and long-term stewardship of this critical Internet infrastructure.

My goal on the Executive Board is to ensure that the organisation remains a trusted, technically credible, and transparent pillar for its members, safeguarding the stability and openness of the Internet in a complex global landscape.”
Since 1994, Lars-Johan Liman has been responsible for the operation of i.root-servers.net, one of the world’s 13 root name server systems, making him a globally recognised expert in DNS and Internet stability. He brings more than three decades of deep operational and governance experience to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. As one of the co-founders of Netnod in 1996, he has been a cornerstone of the company’s mission to provide critical Internet infrastructure in the Nordics.
He has held numerous high-profile positions within global Internet governance bodies, including ICANN and the IETF. He currently serves on ICANN's Root Server System Advisory Committee (RSSAC), which he co-chaired from 2013-2015, and he has previously served as the Chair of ICANN's Customer Standing Committee (CSC) and the DNS Operations Working Group within the IETF.
