Netnod in DN Debatt: Cutting internet ties to the US would be a major mistake

Fredrik Lindeberg, Security Expert and PhD at Netnod, writes in DN Debatt about the risks of replacing American technology with less proven European alternatives.

He argues that digital isolation does not strengthen our defence; on the contrary, it risks playing into the hands of anti-democratic forces by weakening the transatlantic link. Instead of focusing on the physical location of servers, we should prioritise logical control and leverage the superior security resources of global platforms. Discarding robust tools in favour of symbolic politics means lowering our guard in a critical security situation.
