State of the Internet in Sweden 2020-03-23 16:00

In this blog, we try to assess the health of the Swedish Internet during this crisis. We aim to mitigate the generation of fake news and rumours. This is the information we at Netnod currently know about.

The Internet continues to work well in Sweden.

Internationally the view is similar. The Internet continues to work well. Yesterday's peak use has become today's normal. However, as networks are designed for peak usage, the amount of upgrades needed is relatively low. That said, congestion points have required upgrades, and more such upgrades will be needed. Many services have also seen upgrades to handle a significant increase in traffic.

Currently it seems people outside the sector are more worried about the Internet’s ability to cope than people working in the sector.
