The meeting began with LM Jogbäck (CEO, Netnod) who welcomed attendees and gave an update on the significant developments at Netnod. In summary, LM announced that:

  • The number of customer ports at Netnod’s Stockholm and Copenhagen IXPs have doubled in the last 3 years.
  • Peak traffic at the Netnod Stockholm IX has almost doubled in the last 3 years.
  • Peak traffic at the Netnod Copenhagen IX has almost doubled in the last year.
  • Netnod now offers IX connections in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. 

In a packed agenda, other presentations covered everything from the Internet of Things, cybercrime, the IPv6-only Internet and DDoS mitigation to the Global Interconnection Index, IPv6 data centres, and VXLAN for building IXPs. Attendees were also briefed on a range of technical, legal and ethical issues related to IT security.

Patrik Fältström, Head of Research and Development at Netnod, gave a live demo of Netnod’s web interface for partners. The demo showed that partners can publish their customers’ zones and have them served across the Netnod anycast network instantly.
