ICG Announces Call for Public Comment

The IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) is asking the public to review the Proposal to Transition the Stewardship of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Functions from the U.S. Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to the Global Multistakeholder Community.

As part of the process to transfer oversight of The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) from US Government to the multi stakeholder community, three operational communities have produced their individual proposals. Head of Outreach and Communication at Netnod, Nurani Nimpuno, have as vice-chair of the Consolidated RIR IANA Stewardship Proposal Team (CRISP team) been deeply involved in the proposals from "the numbers community".

The IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) has received these three proposals and now published their combined proposal for public comment. The comment period is open from July 31 until 8 September 2015 at 23:59 UTC.  For more information, see www.ianacg.org/icg-announces-call-for-public-comment-on-iana-stewardship-transition-proposal.
